Mango Manor cottage:
(our large duplex):

Has two suites and   a shared kitchen. Each suite has 2 queen beds and a twin futon, which allows each side to accommodate 5.  Both have a private bathroom.  The Mango Manor rooms share a large wrap around porch, each side has it's own hammock and leather Sarchi style rockers.  The porch is a great place to watch the Mot Mots, or the Variegated Squirrels eating the Mangos and Starfruit that surround the rooms.

The "Exotic Wood Suites":

(our mid size duplex suites) over look the Canyon Preserve.

Each suite has a queen size bed and a twin size futon lounge. They share a kitchen, where you can enjoy a cup of complimentary morning coffee.  You will love the bright airy private bathrooms.  These duplex villas are perched on the bluff overlooking our nature preserve canyon. The balconies are ideal for bird and nature observation. Each suite can accommodate a total of 3.

The Tea House cottage:
(our largest private cottage)

The Mona Lisa Rancho:
Is a Thatch roofed octagonal suite perched near the edge of the bluff right next to the jungle edge. It has a queen size bed. The outdoor shower is a favorite among guests and has a private sunbathing patio. The Mona is one of our best cottages for honeymooners, and guests looking for a romantic bungalow. Coati Mundis sometimes use the Mona Lisa as a short cut to get to the pool area where we hang bananas for them.  It can accommodate just 2 people.

The Ilan Ilan:
It is slightly larger Thatch roofed octagonal suite is (ramped for physically challenged guests).  Ilan Ilan too is perched near the edge of the bluff  next to the jungle edge. It has a queen size bed. Like the Mona Lisa it also has an outdoor shower (for that Tarzan and Jane in you) and a private sunbathing patio.  Mot Mots have been know to nest in the canyon below and perch on the trees near the patio.

Main House (guest room):
This room has double bed, a private bath and balcony over looking the canyon and the pool area.

Deluxe Nature Villas:
THE BEDROOM SUITE:
With a spacious stone and coral-tiled bathroom and shower (big enough for two!) and comfortable, private bedroom looking out over a tranquil canyon, you can bathe, rest, read or just sit peacefully on the wide wraparound porch and listen to the wildlife.
THE SOCIAL UNIT:
A sun-dappled kitchen and living room invite you to prepare a cup of Costa Rican coffee and settle in with a good book or a good friend and let the day unfold in the spectacular way that the locals (Ticos) take for granted.

Services and Facilities

Large Swimming pool and Jacuzzi:

Our swimming pool and hot tub area is nested, surrounded by gardens, on our canyon edge. All this creates spectacular views of the Rio Grande Canyon and Central Valley with the Volcanic Mountains surrounding. The poolside bar and lounge area is a cantilevered glass covered veranda looking over the edge of the canyon. The Banana Bar offers a menu of light, tapa-like snacks for pool-side service.

The Equestrian Center:

Johanna’s passion for reviving the Horse Traditions of Costa Rica gave birth to the idea of Equestrian Tours through the Coffee Plantations, Private Nature Reserves in the area, and the nearby mountain range that offers a 360 degree vistas of the whole central valley, and Arenal, Poas, Barva, Turrialba, and Irazu Volcanoes. The town organizes several Cabalgatas (Trail Rides) as do many towns throughout the country, and guests are often included in these traditional events. A great way to “Meet the People” of Costa Rica.

Cliffside Restaurant

Originally we thought with our new restaurant, we would offer a full menu. Then we started looking at waste, prices, freshness, and overall appeal and flexibility to our guests. We have figured out that without a menu we can offer our guests the freshest options, but not sacrifice taste or choice.  We try to buy organic fruit and vegetables whenever available, and we’re expanding our own Hydroponic garden to provide more choices.  We try to offer heart healthy food whenever we can.   Let us know of your food preferences and we’ll try to fulfill your dietary needs.

300 ft. Waterfall

What can we say?  I think the picture does it better than we can

Botanical Gardens:

There are wonderful botanical gardens in this area to visit as well like the Orchid Gardens in Palmares, or the Bromeliad Nursery in Cocaleca.  There’s also another wonderful Botanical Garden in Sarchi which is just 7km away.  All are worth a visit, and it can be done all on the same day.
